Several scholarships are available through the Erasmus+ (previously known as Erasmus Mundus) programs.
The most important and essential scholarships for Indian students are the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) Scholarships, which are open to applicants from all over the world.
These aim to promote higher educational quality through academic links and cooperation between Europe and the rest of the globe.
There are scholarships available for those wishing to pursue a master’s degree over the course of 1-2 years.
Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters are provided by different higher education institutions in a variety of countries.
Any candidate pursuing an Erasmus degree has the opportunity to study at two or three institutions in various countries, depending on the program requirements.
The scholarships encourage more exchange between non-European universities and their European equivalents, with average study periods ranging from three months to three years. The Erasmus Mundus catalog now has up to 163 programs.
The scholarship has been offered to over 2,500 Indian nationals since its commencement in 2004.
According to the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship 2022, 161 Indian students were given scholarships for degree programs beginning in 2023–24. For the second straight year, India ranks #1 out of 167 countries.
